Happy New Year to you all and here’s to another year of fabulous destination weddings!
Meet Carly & Anthony…
These two live in NYC and wanted to plan a destination wedding in Bend, OR. They both grew up going there and combined with Anthony’s love of golf, it was only appropriate to choose a luxury golf resort to host the wedding at. They decided on Tetherow Resort as their venue. If you haven’t been to Bend, it is fun in Summer and Winter. Summer boasts awesome running/hiking trails and golf courses, while Winter there is best known for the ski slopes. It is big enough to where there is something for everyone but small enough and remote enough that people really feel like they are getting away from it all. So it is a perfect spot for a PNW destination wedding. It is a 45 min flight from Seattle and just a short drive from Portland, OR.
Carly and I didn’t actually meet face to face once during our planning. All correspondence was done via email and phone. She is one busy gal on the road and working remotely a lot, so this worked well for us. This was a large guest list for a destination wedding, with over 160 people in attendance. The weekend kicked off with a welcome dinner at Deschutes Brewery which was a perfect spot for a larger place to gather in a private setting that was more casual than the wedding location. The wedding day consisted of an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour on the terrace and a reception under a big white tent. A perfect summer wedding, and it was a beautiful day to say the least! Their family and friends were equally as fun and charming as they are, which made for funny, heart-felt toasts and a packed dance floor. I really enjoyed getting to know and work with everyone on this one.
Big thanks to Anna Marie Studio, a fantastic destination wedding photographer who provided these lovely images. The light was simply gorgeous that day!
This wedding was so much fun to work on. Great families and overall awesome clients. Rachel and Nate initially asked me for ideas for where to get married and based on what they were describing, I pointed them in the direction of Swiftwater Cellars near the Suncadia Resort property. They pretty much looked there and looked nowhere else..it was the perfect fit.
Please enjoy this sweet wedding at one of my favorite NW destinations, photographed by the lovely Tasha Owen.
I know you might be surprised, but I don’t get a lot of repeat clients in my industry… 😉
So it’s an extra special treat when I get to work with the same families and sets of friends and get to see familiar faces when I am on site to coordinate a wedding. I coordinated Allison and Brendan’s wedding a few years back and this year I got to coordinate Kristi & Michael’s wedding.
This time, everyone packed a suitcase and headed to the San Juan islands! Roche Harbor has to be up there on the top of my list for favorite NW destination wedding venues.
Kristi, a coordinator herself, did a fantastic job designing this wedding. My favorite part of the wedding was the dessert buffet and the gold sequined table runners.

Meet Britta & Erik…
I love small town weddings. They are traditional, casual and simple in all the right ways. Britta & Erik got married at St. Paul’s church in Port Gamble then hosted a fantastic reception at Kitsap Memorial State Park. This park/wedding venue is one of my favorite hidden gems in the Seattle area. Not many people know about it and you can have a beautiful waterfront wedding for a fraction of the cost of most other waterfront venues.
The reception was filled with BBQ salmon, lots of dancing (thanks to GenXPro), and more desserts than could possible be consumed. Spady’s BBQ did a fantastic job and their staff was so great to work with. The Sweet Side provided the beautiful spread of desserts.
Big thanks to RedBox Pictures for all of the lovely shots! We love working with you guys!
